S. Elzas
Mr. Salomon Elzas (1922 - 1990) was born in
Rotterdam and lived in the Hague. Chazzanut was his hobby. He was chazzan in the
Hague and in Amsterdam (Lekstraat) on the Jamim noraim.

A record made in 1982 has seven general melodies (side A) and seven Dutch
Chazzanut (side B). These can be found below.

As an introduction
to tape 1 (shabbat) Elzas says: "... chazzanut usually is an oral tradition, therefore one may
and should adapt, unless the melody is a written composition. And even then it
is sometimes done". Recordings by Bloemendal and other chazzaim will be added later.
