| | M. van Praag
Max van Praag (1947) is one of
the regular chazzanim in the Beth Shalom shul, the shul of the elderly home in
Amsterdam. He has a long history in traditional Dutch melodies. A general
introduction (Dutch & English) into Max's musical repertoire can be found
here.
Max starts each recording with background information in Dutch. For the convenience
of the non-Dutch speaker I separated that from the actual recording. Hopefully,
at some moment, a textual summary will be added.
I split the recording into two groups: "at home" and "in the synagogue".
Mind that not all melodies are Dutch, but all are used in Beth Shalom shul.
Melodies are based on (follow the hyperlink to their own pages on this
website, where applicable):
| BZM: Ben Zion Moskovits z"l,
chazzan in the Lekstraat synagogue. |

on this site. |

| Abraham Kuijt z"l Max' father in law. |

primary school Rosh Pina post ww2. Max was teacher of Max van Praag, Julia

Haim library in Amsterdam. |
